After a fair amount of searching, and reading the excellent tool info page on Dan’s Motorcycle Repair Web Pages, I decided to opt for a 3/8″ socket set, featuring both AF (American Face) and metric sockets.

This is a 6 point set, more precise than the conventional 12 point socket sets, and hopefully more effective when dealing with rather siezed and rusted bolts! The set is actually by the American firm SK (SK 47 Pc 3/8″ D 6 Point AF/Metric Socket Set 94547) I think I got a good deal too buying the set new from eBay for £58.86 inc pp!
